edc performance comments-shilei
hahas, aft reading ah i also got my own comments hahas here goes. then can take note then learn frm mistakes yupps.=DD

personally, I think the emcees not that good la, got room for improvement. Cos I couldn’t hear properly what they were talking about. Then got one part which one the emcee’s mike got problem but then he still continued talking without the mike and we couldn’t even hear what he is talking about. He should have just borrowed the other emcee’s mike. Then can learn another thing which is must pai more, as in tech run all these. Then all those problems with mikes etc can will have lesser chance of it not working etc. yupps.

1st ju : i think its ok , average,.but then some parts weird weird de cos saw some flaws.. like the mother open the door to her daughter's room then somehow the door disappear and then she can walk through the walls de. then also got call people without dialing the phone and the teacher collect worksheets then later the worksheets in her hand disappear. yupps.so next time must be careful la. cos can audience can see all these de. I also heard a lot of feedback then can hear people talking at backstage la. i think actually they can do better de. hten like hengxin said, i quite like the colourful chairs also and their stage plan was simple and nice but then they shouldnt have so much huan chang ya.

2nd ju: I think it is quite luan la. Personally, I dun really know wad they trying to show. Something about raffles building the Singapore. However I dun really know wad they dance or sing that part was for. then some people never really put emotions into their lines then very monotone .so ya, must take note also..

3rd ju: I like that ju best haha =DD Cos it was funny which can appeal to the audience and then the actors were good ya. =D I think the ahmah part was very amusing. hahaha. That part I was laughing like siao. Yea. Then I think that ju also got meaning cos it potrays some prejudice some people have towards other people of different countries/race etc.then their ju got quite a lot of ppl who can act well la. Yupps I enjoyed the show even though I watch before. Second time watch also veri nice hahas. Then I think that ju was he best of the 3 la. Yupps

so overall, I think last year one better la. Although last I think their stage plan wasn’t really good cos is sometimes cant see what they acting cos their back facing us but I think last year their script better than this year one. Yupps. However also can see they got put in effort cos I come back sch always see them do publicity and stuff la. So ya, from here we can learn quite a lot frm them, the good and bad parts.继续加油 ba =D

Comm or not
during our 1st commitee meeting, llb said something that greatly enlightened me.

"The only difference being in comm or not is that you have to be better in doing things in comm"

Most ppl have the misconception that being in comm means you can give more to your cca, that's kind of wrong. Everyone can give alot to their ccas regardless of being in comm or not.

Its just whether you want to give as much, whoever said being in comm means u must/can give more? If you want to contribute, of course you can.

Recently i asked a non-comm junior to come help out with some farewell stuffs, and this was what she said:

"Haha..dun wan la.. i also not in comm leh, dun wan go there be extra.."

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So i told her llb's sentence. I think alot of non-comm ppl thinks that they will be "extra" if they go help out with supposedly comm stuffs.

hey, if youre not in comm, and you still come help out voluntarily, i will salute you man.

One awesome song-qinzhi
One awesome song.. by the Beatles. Awesome lyrics, awesome melody, awesome arrangement albeit simple.

The Beatles - Across The Universe

Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup,
They slither while they pass, they slip away Across the Universe.
Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my opened mind,
Possessing and caressing me.

Jai Guru Deva Om

Nothing's gonna change my world,
Nothing's gonna change my world.
Nothing's gonna change my world,
Nothing's gonna change my world.

Images of broken light which dance before me like a million eyes,
They call me on and on Across the Universe.
Thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box,
They tumble blindly as they make their way Across the Universe

Jai Guru Deva Om

Nothing's gonna change my world,
Nothing's gonna change my world.
Nothing's gonna change my world,
Nothing's gonna change my world.

Sounds of laughter, shades of earth are ringing
Through my open ears inciting and inviting me.
Limitless, undying love, which shines around me like a million suns,
And calls me on and on Across the Universe

Only John Lennon can think of these good shites. Right click here and click Save As... to download the cover by Fiona Apple, which I think is more appealing to young people. I don't want any of you to be bored by Beatles. THEY ARE DAMN GOOD.

"I can't carry it for you, but i can carry you"
- 这句话来自“lord of the ring”。

EDC Performance-Lim Heng Xin
EDC performed for assembly.

The emcees were rather weak and lacklustre, like u noe..anticlimax? Yeah.

The first play was ok, it was about various people losing their cool. This is like a everyday kind of play, and it sort of relates to teenagers as we tend to get heated easily.

It was rather simple, and i quite liked e stage style. There were the yellow mural boards and colourful chairs. the only downside thing were; Most of the actors/actresses were rather weak and there were too many scene changes. That was a tad confusing.

Michael actually acted a guaikia(good student) omfg. Imagine our reactions when we heard michael handing in homework. So not him! But i tink michael did a much better job than one of the male leads; the guy in red shirt. He was like reading from e script like that you know? Lack of feelings, no emotions.

Then the 2nd one came up... it was..abit..lame. its something about building singapore from scratch. Raffles finding singapore. There were many zhi1 ti3 involved. Kinda like a xingti ju ba. This kind of play should actually be very entertaining de..

But the way their lower secs portray it.. You might tink they were replaying resident evil for us. In other words, lum nua la. Maybe they should have asked cheong may lan join them T_T heh. This was one of e weakest plays.

The 3rd play was the only decent one really. Ok i dint really get what was going on as my attention span was running out. But the acting was well-done, natural and comical. It should be, since its their upper sec members doing it.

Most lower sec actors/actresses had the same problems. They werent daring enough and they really sounded like they were reading from the script! I think it was due to reciting too much plainly from the script and not acting it out together.

All in all, it is actually still pretty much EDC's usual standards. No improve, no deprove either.
